The Band

Remember great music.... Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin.. bands that change the way you see music and the world. That is what Freesound is doing today.
Freesound is a 6 to 7 piece band from Honolulu, Hawaii and California's SF Bay area.
They meld the sweet rootsy sound of the island with the funk, blues and psychedelic rock of the bay area in it glory days. The band performs a wide range of original music and an ever changing jukebox of covers spanning generations of music. They showcased their diversity by being invited to perform at the Monterey Bay Blues Fest as well as their annual reggaefest 2 years in a row.

Hot off the Press

FreeSound by popular vote of blues festival fans and supporters have been selected to perform for the 3rd consecutive year at The 2010 Monterey Bay Blues Festival on June 27, 2010! Quite an achievement!

And the band will also perform at the Concord Music series on July 22, 2010 with a cable broadcast of the performance to 60,000 homes. See the Tours Page for details and go to Community Concerts website for the full schedule of performers. So if you have not yet seen this crowd-pleasing band , this is a great chance!

New Music

FreeSound spent 2 full days at Prairie Sun studios at the end of September 2009 recording 17 tracks, 10 originals plus many of their great cover renditions.
So there should be some new CDs rolling off the duplicating machines!!

National Award

FreeSound have won a National Award!!! At the 2007 AMMA awards the BEST REGGAE AWARD went to FreeSound for its song " Sweet Sensi". The playlist is here 2007 AMMA awards- Best Reggae- "Sweet Sensi" by FreeSound"
